When you upgrade your old retractor, we refurbish and send it to hospitals in need.
Thompson Surgical is constantly working on new product upgrades and improvements and often offers “trade in” and “upgrade” discounts to our customers. As a result of our product upgrades and promotions, Thompson regularly receives older retractors back. The solution is to refurbish this equipment back to new and donate it to those who need it the most. Thompson understands the needs of surgeons involved in complex surgeries in challenging environments with limited resources and is pleased to donate anywhere from 8-10 retractor retractors annually to places in need.

At Thompson, we believe it is important to take care of our environment today to ensure a healthy planet for generations to come. Here’s how we’re reducing our carbon footprint:
All scrap metal (titanium, aluminum) cans, paper and plastic products are recycled.
All printer toner cartridges are recycled
Reusable flatware and utensils are provided for our employees’ use, to reduce disposables as much as possible.
Electronic documents are favored over printed documents to help reduce the amount of paper used.
Energy efficient appliances such as furnaces, air conditioning, and make-up air retractor are all utilized.
Giving back to the Community
We believe that being a responsible corporate citizen means giving back to the community. At least 10 percent of our profits are donated to charitable organizations all over the United States. We support organizations such as:
